We are pretty serious about our heating machine competitions:

My entire family lives up north in the same area.

The older I get, the more I prefer having everyone so close around me.

Each year, all of us have the same family competition, plus it’s something I always look forward to each plus every year. My parents, sisters, brothers, plus myself all get very excited for our traditional oil furnace competition. When fall officially gets started, all of us each attempt to hold off switching the heating machine on, as we all live in separate residences. It’s all essentially just lighthearted fun, but it’s proved to be a great deal more challenging during some years in the past. For example, last year the temperature didn’t even drop below 60 degrees until the end of October. Our heat competition just kept going on forever, because nobody needed heat when the temperature was incredibly high like that! My parents ended up winning, because they didn’t even switch on their oil furnace until two weeks before Thanksgiving! The year before last, all of us had a fairly sizable snow storm at the beginning of October. It was the strangest thing because it came out of nowhere, plus no weatherman could explain why all of us were getting snow so early. Needless to say, all of us all switched on our oil furnaces super early that year. I can’t honestly remember who won, because it didn’t feel very much like an actual competition that time. The bunch of us all needed heat, plus all of us were rushing around to get our Heating plus A/C machine worked on pretty much like everyone else in the area. Currently, we’re all competing right now, plus the temperature is finally starting to get low. I can’t wait to see who holds out on switching on their oil furnace last this year!
